Blah, blah, blah. All Caught up!

Today's post is dedicated to the past few months; I certainly couldn't have written it without them. We are (finally!) caught up! Wahoo! No more boring posts (for me, at least; I suppose I can't promise that the content of my future posts won't bore you :).

But that's neither here nor there. Ahem. Without further adieu, I present to you: January 2014 - June 2014.

January 2014

I'm so grateful for pictures! I don't think I'd remember much of January without them. And that would be too bad, because we did some pretty fun stuff. Let's see, for New Year's Eve we...ummmm...we...for some reason I can't really.... Yeah, so it's true: No pictures=no memory. Okay, so we probably did something pretty boring considering we'd just returned from Alaska, and traveled for about a month straight before that, but the rest of January really was fun!

On New Year's day we drove to Pasadena to check out the floats from the Rose Parade (see, we're not completely lame after all). Since we didn't take pictures of the floats, I'm guessing the only reason I can remember this particular outing is because of the picture we took of the house from Father of the Bride as we left town. Not sure why I decided that merited a picture more than the cool floats, but whatever.

We celebrated my birthday a few days late in, you guessed it, Disneyland. Poor Bryan. I never get sick of that place :). I wore a birthday pin, and it was fun having all the employees wish me a happy birthday. Seriously, I don't think we passed a cast member that didn't wish me a happy birthday. We ate yummy food and complementary birthday dessert at Carthay Circle in CA Adventure, and it just so happened that the parade started during our dinner. We felt pretty important watching it from the balcony of the restaurant (poor peasants sitting on the hard pavement), even though anyone who eats there can do it.

Other memorable moments from January: Bryan's sister, Susie, had a conference in Santa Barbara so we drove up to see her; lots of beach time; we discovered a natural marsh in Irvine (I know what you're thinking--natural marsh in SoCal, yeah right! So did we, but it truly exists!) to explore.

February 2014

Sunday family movie nights:

Hide and Seek. Logan's favorite spot :)

More Disneyland--just us parents. Hopefully Bryan doesn't kill me for this pic, I just think it's hilarious:

And a visit from Grandpa Larry and Grandma Katie:

March 2014

Can pretty much be summed up by: beaches, birthdays, and grandparents.

Grandma Lin and Papa visited for Bryan's birthday (29), and we were able to see the beautiful inside of the Mission in San Juan Capistrano.

April 2014

Last family outing to Disneyland (our passes expired and we renewed mine for an early Mother's Day gift, but not Bryan's).

We took Logan on his first Easter Egg Hunt. I thought holidays were fun when I was a kid, but they're so much better as the parent!

Logan kept trying to put Easter Eggs in other kids' baskets.
Checking out moving trucks. This pretty much sums up how Logan and I feel about leaving California.
Logan enjoyed his second-ever Easter Egg Hunt on Easter

May 2014

We were lucky enough to get another visit from Grandpa Larry and Grandma Katie.

Logan turned 2! This little guy has changed our lives forever for the best. We sure love him.

What 2-year-old wouldn't want to spend his birthday on a boat? On Logan's birthday we decided to visit Catalina Island, just a short boat ride from Newport Beach. We had a lot of fun exploring the small town, and rented a paddle boat to putt around the harbor.

Again, no cake smash. Logan just isn't a fan of getting his hands dirty.

We went on a short vacation to Vegas and on the way our car turned 100,000 miles!

Unfortunately Logan caught Hand Foot and Mouth a few days before our trip so we decided to quarantine ourselves in the hotel room until he was no longer contagious.

We ate at some pretty delicious buffets once we felt comfortable taking Logan out, our favorite being the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's palace. This is a pic of Logan at the Wicked Spoon. He loved it as much as we did!

     June 2014

          Logan loves camping indoors.
Bryan's high school friend Mark was on vacation in San Diego, so we met up at the County
Fair. Our kids are only a few months apart and had a great time together.
We went deep sea fishing with some friends. Even though we didn't catch much we had a lot of
My catch of the day--too small to keep.

Last weekend we spent the day at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Logan loved it! As I was
putting him to bed, he gave me a rundown of his day: "Zoo, fun . . . elephants, fun . . . lions, fun
. . . tram, fun . . .Small World, fun."  (He likes to remind us he likes Disneyland even on the
          days we don't go.)
          Time for a haircut?
And, of course, no month would be complete without a visit to the beach!
